FALLING INTO SPRING

It was hard for me to miss all of the attention on Autumn/Winter 2012's hot, new colour, "Oxblood" this past year. I'm not much for coveting trends unless they work for my style in general. I historically ALWAYS buy black shoes; flats, heels, boots, Black is my colour of choice 98% of the time. Tan/Camel is my other colour choice for footwear. Recently I did something I don't normally do and in a colour I have never worn, I purchase Oxblood, JETT ankle boots designed by Natalie & Dylana Suarez for ModernVice in NYC. I have owned red shoes in the past and it's been in the back of my mind I haven't stepped outside my black comfort zone in a while, and was wondering what shoe would make me do so. And here we have it..

I recently saw on Twitter through a personally trusted "influencer" I follow (can't remember who it was), an update that called out specifically the colour Emerald Green for 2013. Well, what a coincidence that the next day I stumble across this gorgeous Tibi, Emerald Green Blouse..

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

Cards, ornaments, presents, this time of year never ceases to maze me and I always think it's going to be really quiet.. It's really touched my heart how many friends, colleagues, and family have sent best wished for the holiday season and new year. I'm embarrassed Nathan and I again were not prepared to reciprocate with a similar gift.. In the interest of staying positive and not dwelling on what we could have done, I'm looking forward to take my holiday vacation from work to plan some Thank You's in the New Year. 2012 was a fabulous year, look out 2013!

MERRY DECEMBER, HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

We finally bought our first Christmas tree and although it's not your traditional Christmas tree, I love it. Our tree is meant to be more of a decoration and additional lighting ambience than for placing gifts under. Although we could and still may place a small rug underneath for any gifts to give or receive. All in time, it's only December 16th.. 

These name tags were our place setting at a friends recent wedding and they are our first Christmas tree decorations! It was N8's idea, man I love him.

This past Friday I enjoyed the best 4 hour lunch with some of my closest friends in the Toronto media industry. I should have took more pictures but I was having to much fun catching up.

Pictures from my bestie Norma's 30th birthday I attend in her Vancouver home, on December 7th. Family and friends pooled together for support and sent me to my dearest best friend's milestone birthday. I was in Vancouver for 48 hours and it was one of the best times in my life!

I got to see friends and of Nathan and mine that live in Vancouver so I haven't seen since our Wedding in September. What a dream and celebration.. Epic.

Rachel Roy Dress

This past Fall I met Rachel Roy in Toronto at The Bay across from my work/office. When I was there I found this beautifully designed, Rachel Roy, aquamarine blue maxi dress. It's a little "Spring/Summer" for Fall/Winter but it's fabulously cut and timeless so the plans are possibly wearing it in Antigua when we are there in February and then afterwards in Canada when the weather turns hot.

Top Shop Fall/Spring Coat
I had 3 Spring/Fall coats I have worn out in the past few years so I donated them and purchased this new lightweight, but professional jacket from TopShop! It hugs the body beautifully and allows me permission to wear black and navy together if I ever need or want too. 

Nicole Richie x Macy's Maxi Dress
I love Nicole Richie and all of her clothing and accessory lines (wearing House of Harlow 1960 Necklace N8 gave me for Valentine's Day approx. 2 years ago), so when I saw Nicole Richie for Macy's collection online, I saw this beautiful maxi dress and couldn't resist. I love; the pattern, the colours, the black lace detail around the colour, and optional arrow detailed waistband. 5 stars :) 

New iPhone Case from Zazzle.com

Maybe inspired by my Nicole Richie peacock patterned maxi dress I choose this neutral tone peacock patterned iPhone 4s case. There are A LOT of options to choose from on Zazzle.com so after weeks of weighing my options I decided on this classic, feminine yet vintage inspired case that I felt would be fine with any clothing or accessories I wear.

Grace has a few books released she's worked on but I was happy to recently buy and read about the REAL Grace Coddington's professional background and vision.  

Rodarte for Starbucks Accessories
Nathan bought me the lunch bag as a gift because he knows how worried I get about packing lunches inside my purse. I bought the travel mug because I love the design and that Starbucks allowed Rodarte to apply their design to the Starbucks logo! I gifted one to my Mom because she enjoys getting to know the fashions I'm interested in. She loved the mug because it reminded her of my "Space Invader" Parisian street artist obsession..

I wasn't able to attend the collaboration for sale in-store myself but, my bestie Andrea picked me up my 2 favourite accessories from the collection!

Maison Martin Margiela x H+M "Hitched Up" Dress
MMM's 2003 re-edition dress came in a beautiful red colour, and I have been in the market for a red maxi dress, it was meant to be! My unique dress was a fun conversation piece at my recent staff holiday party too, but I should have took my watch off looking at this picture below.. 

Soia and Kyo Winter Coat
With a Cadillac Fairview gift card present in hand I found this stylish Winter Coat in the Toronto Eaton Centre. Then weeks later Nathan hooked me up with tickets to Soia and Kyo's Spring 2013 runway collection at Toronto Fashion Week!!! Life is good.

Franco Sarto Boots
I bought Franco Sarto staple sandals this past Spring/Summer 2012 and I just so happened to buy Franco Sarto staple, black leather boots!!! In a competitive marketplace I have now acquired a crush on well-designed, but affordable footwear. It's been a while now since I bought them and wearing these boots non-stop, work and play, I can still say; they were a great find.

MY OFFICE HOLIDAY PARTY LOOK 2012

This past Wednesday I wore one of my recent purchases, my Maison Martin Margiela "Hitched Up" Re-edition dress they recently re-put out for H+M. I would have worn my new daring, red dress to my office holiday party regardless, but the theme was "Hollywood Glam" so my outfit definitely was fit, for the night! I'm still waiting for a few more pictures from the party but I couldn't wait :)
