NYC: ALICE AND OLIVIA

While in NYC my friend feel in love with this dress from Alice & Olivia. She spotted it in Bloomingdale's but when she saw it again at the store across from Bryan Park, it was another story.. While I had already spent my small fortune on jewelry from Juicy Couture, I just enjoyed my friend's designer purchase and the store's environment :)

THE DAY I MET TONY HSIEH

Today I went to see Tony Hsieh speak (I'm back in Toronto!). One of the very few things that inspired me to get out of a warm bed at 6am - besides travelling ;) I didn't know about Mr. Hsieh until I wanted invited to a Mackenzie Financial Speaker series, that the Globe & Mail hosts. On the invite there was a small biography about this young genius. He co-founded LinkExchange and sold it to Microsoft for Millions - I haven't even learned to use LinkExchange yet! :( And a few years later he takes Zappos.com from little to no sales to billions!! Selling the company to Amazon for billions! I have always wanted to have my own business and contract my skills out for jobs here and there. Or own a cute Internet cafe & book store :D

Tony's presentation was very inspiring. He was full of great advice, learning's and encouragement. I can't wait to read his book (Delivering Happiness) and learn more -"always educate yourself, personally and professionally."

NYC DAY ONE: 5TH AVE FASHION AND FUN

NYC: DAY ONE

After plotting our New York adventure Meghan and I decided to walk uptown the first day and downtown the next. We started our day on 5th at The Empire State building :) We walked up and checked out a ton of stores and sites.
I found these cool mannequins at Forever 21, and the new Coco Rocha for Marie Clare billboard in Times Square.

NYC: FIRST NIGHT

Home now from NYC with my girl Meghan. Happy to be home in AC but LOVED our time there together. Our plan for the first night was to get settled at my friends apartment then go for a walk. Of course we found a patio and Chanel ;)

THE MONDAY

Today my friend Meghan and I walked all the down Queen street to Yonge & Dundas square. We found some great deals and clothes along the way. Our day started with some very unexpected news, Meghan and my best friend Tracey's sister passed away in a car accident late Sunday night. We received the calls Monday morning and needed some time to come to terms with what we heard and what our best friend is going through while we're out of town :( We are still dealing with the trauma of the whole situation, but calling and sending our love every second to Tracey and her family. My message to her lovely sister Terilyn; "You were an amazing girl becoming a woman when God and your Father came to get you, but I'm glad I was given the opportunity to teach you how to skate before you left us. I will miss you forever, and promise to take care of your sister and send your family love forever oxox."

SITESEEING IN TORONTO

Meghan arrived on time and after getting settled in and having supper, we walked:) Amazing window displays (of course), by two of my favourite stores on Queen street west.

INTERGALATIC

After watching the documentary Valentino: The Last Emperor, I was really sad to see Valentino Garavani's retire. I purposely have ignored reviewing the brand, because I'm a very loyal person and I thought it's just not going to be the same without him. Well I have turned a new leaf and when I checked out Valentino's Spring 2010 Couture collection, I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't like or love everything but these pieces definitely stood out to me. I would love to wear these daring, sexy pieces.

MURAKAMI IN BROOKLYN 2008

Yesterday was my last day of work for a week, my best friend from Saskatchewan arrives on Sunday! I'm so pumped for our trip to NYC :) As my brain races with all the possibilities; Soho, Chinatown, Chelsea Pier, Times Square, High Line Park, the list goes on.. I have been looking through the pictures I took summer of 2008 when my boyfriend and I went for 10 days - it was incredible. Besides the boat ride, my other favourite adventure from the trip was going to the Brooklyn Museum to see Haruki Murakami. This display was in the entrance and you were allowed to take pics.



This picture (below) however I secretly shot while walking through the exhibit :) What I will do to capture my favourite art and fashion!

WELCOME TO THE FAMILY

My nail colour family that is :) Revlon has a new line of polish coming out, Top Speed - a coat dries in 60 seconds!! It's so great to see the innovation of beauty products year over year.. Back to the polish; I have 5 awesome colours I don't know which one to pick first.. I'm leaning towards peachy right now.. I already have a coral and orange but LOVE this pastel peach. Also have been wanting to buy yellow and grey so that's where I'm hesitating which colour I want to wear first..

My friends (and co-workers) painted their nails today with the Revlon colour Jaded. Looks good on both of them :)

FAVOURITE TITLES

I went to Chapters/Indigo after work and found a book with my name on it! haha My last name is, McBeth and I use Lady McBeth as my BBM handle. The sad face is because it was priced to clear for $4.99!

Today I received my August Elle, I'm so excited to see the fall fashion previews. I not one of those people who complain to much about fall fashion trickling in to stores now, there are usually great sales when I need to start buying :)
