HERE COMES MY BRIDESMAIDS!

I was surprised last Sunday night with a gift trip to Las Vegas with all of my amazing bridesmaids. This trip means so much to me. It's still sinking in that I'm going to Las Vegas (I have never been to before) with my closest girlfriends.

My Prairie Girls :)

School and Figure Skating explain my childhood. I couldn't have done it better without these girls.

NYC, Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, it's a sisterhood of the traveling pants;)

From Prince Albert to Edmonton to Toronto, I'm so lucky to have meet these girls. The experiences we've had and the support we given, we push each other to take risks and do great things!

WARDROBE STAPLE: MY SCARF COLLECTION

Over the last 3 years I have been religiously wearing scarves all year round, except hot Summer days of course. I love complementing colours but contrasting patterns with just the addition of a scarf! They also come in handy in cool places where you the extra fabric wrapped around feels warm and cozy.

Above & Below: Scarves from H&M, purchased around 2009/2010.

Above: "Timbalier" designed by Francoise Heron
Below: "Fleurs d'Ecosse" was designed by Sylvia Kerr
~ Hermes scarves I bought at their charity event in 2011 ~

Above: Grey & Silver sparkle scarf was a Christmas 2011 gift from my Fiance's Grandma. This scarf is magnificent for moi, it goes with everything but simple, stylish, and big enough to be a shawl :)

Above: Gift from Boyfriend/Fiance when we were exploring Montmartre (in Paris).
Below: Jason Wu x Target scarf, my friend picked up for me at the Toronto Pop-Up Store event. It was only $10!!! It's on the longer side, similar to my silver scarf (loves it!).

I have been wanting to document my current nail polish collection because I haven't done such thing since I was a teenager ;) I threw out a bunch of drugstore polishes I never use and were more than a few years old. WHAT I'M WATCHING: DOWNTON ABBEY

I first heard of Downton Abbey on Twitter through movie and fashion celebrities I follow, interesting commentary takes over my newsfeed weekly. I purchased Season 1 from iTunes and this past weekend watched the entire season! This tv series is absolutely incredible. A constant range of storylines and emotions, an upper class world where people feel trapped but have the courage do anything they please. Other parts I really enjoy is the Cast, Costume Design, and the Set Design (check out: Highclere Castle).

MY CHANEL INSPIRED SPRING SHIFT DRESS

After watching Chanel's Resort 2012 collection I thought about the pretty tweed shift dress I bought in Montreal a few years ago. I called it "Channel!" It was a steal at $40 but the slip dress underneath needs to be re-hemmed, it's longer than the dress and not in a good way.. Going to try and fix it myself.. Stay tuned :)

NEW YORK, NEW YORK! WHERE TO NEXT?

Sweater and accessories all from New York City :) I actually bought the watch and bracelet in San Diego this past Christmas, but the watch is DKNY and the bracelet is Betsey Johnson. Those ladies are so New York they still fit in here with my New York fashion moment. Shirt I bought at Forever 21 on 5th Avenue, and necklace from a street vendor on Broadway Avenue in the SOHO neighbourhood.

My boyfriend and I have been traveling to NYC every chance we get these past 4-5 years, but it's time to spread our wings. We're currently planning a vacation this July and we have definitely decided on Paris!!! We are also planning Barcelona, Spain... BIG adventure, lots of planning.. Stay tuned :)

UNEXPECTED INSPIRATION

Over the weekend I was relaxing and flipped through this pattern book I bought in NYC a few (2-3) years ago. Between the book and my collection of craft/collaging supplies, I found a page of inspiration from ZINK Winter 2008 and was inspired to create this...

I'm leaving this page in my art book, to build inspiration from. I am proud of myself for creating this but would still rather hang the designer sketches of their ELLE girl on my wall instead.

THE QUEEN'S SUITE

This last week has been the annual Canadian Music Week. My boyfriends company rented out the Queen's Suite here in Toronto. It's true, I explored and partied in THE Queen's suite when she comes to Toronto....

I get so excited whenever my boyfriend and I stay at a Fairmont hotel. The number one reason for me is (location usually), and the Miller Harris body lotion... haha

WHAT I'M WEARING:
Jeans - Levi's
Printed top - H&M
Cardigan - H&M
Necklace - Juicy Couture
Watch - Betsey Johnson from The Hudson's Bay co.
Bracelet - Pandora (you probably can't see it but I love it sooo much!!!)

MY DREAM RING OF 2010/2011 - THE YSL ARTY RING

I love these YSL rings, they're unique, strong, simple yet complex.. Yves Saint Laurent is a fantastic designer. For colour, art, and for love of all things unique and cool that makes me happy and inspires - wearing one of these rings would do just that.. LOVE.. I plan on finding/buying one of these rings this Christmas. My boyfriend and I are going to San Diego to celebrate and vacation with his family. I keep counting the sleeps to when I could possibly shop for these! I wonder what will happen.. If you know where I can find YSL arty rings in San Diego (Neiman Marcus is on my radar), please comment and let me know :)

FOOD (JEWELRY) FOR THOUGHT

Now that I have pictures of both necklaces I bought off a street vendor in SOHO, NYC. When I was visiting in NYC on day 2 the pretzel necklace caught my eye. I thought it was a cool NYC charm. When I went the next day to swoop it up, I saw the Chinese fortune cookie, and I thought that was a cute boyfriend charm for me because my bf is half Chinese and I have always been obsessed with fortune cookie since I was a kid.

MARIE CLAIRE'S BILLBOARD IN TIMES SQUARE

Before I left for NYC with my girlfriend Coco Rocha tweeted about her billboard that was up in Times Square. On the first day in NYC I spotted the billboard and of course took a picture of the fun, high fashion billboard. I'm so happy I picked up the October Marie Claire, inside is the article on the billboard which was a Project Runway challenge. Great read to learn about the challenge, the winning designer, the outfit, and the model, Coco Rocha.

My picture of the billboard :D
