WHAT I WORE: NEW YEARS EVE

Wearing one of my favorite buys of 2009, my Jimmy Choo for H&M tunic. So city!

WHAT I'M READING: UK VIBES

Traveling is my favorite excuse to buy magazines. I bought 3 UK issues this time, all December 2009 editions; VOGUE, ELLE, and In Style UK. They were just the change I needed this holiday season.

NOT FOR VEGETARIANS: MY CHILDHOOD DIET

When I went back home I set out for my own Tour de Food! Some eats from back home just don't taste the same here. First I went to Vern's Pizza for their famous stacked meat pizza with a lasagne style cheese topping. Then it was Taco Time for a Super Soft Taco and Mexi Fries! You can't get a hot sauce like the one back home, it's the bomb! And last but not least; Pizza Hut! Once again it's their sauce and attention to the cheesy detail.

LIGHTEST I HAVE EVER PACKED

While I was back home I bought; 2 tops, 1 blazer, a winter coat, ballerina flats, and gloves. Must find my tripod so I can photograph my amazing annual shopping Saskatchewan deals.

MOM'S SERGER IS A LEGEND

When my girlfriends and I got into sewing my mom taught us the glory of the serger. I broke it once sewing denim, not a pretty site. I think my friends and I were more upset than my mommy. Today I just updated one of my tank tops that was hanging a little to low in the front.

HOOD.

MY TRAVELING BAND

Tomorrow I fly back home to celebrate Christmas with my family. I can't wait! I'm starting to organize everything I need, and all I can say is my purse is going to be pretty heavy.

SHOP! IN THE NAME OF LOVE...

I recently won a gift certificate from my office and without hesitation bought myself and others Christmas presents. I finally bought a tan bag. I really wanted the one from H&M but resisted to long and now it's gone. This runner up from Aldo isn't to shabby, the pleather is really soft. The only difference from this bag to the other is, it doesn't have a longer strap so you can wear it cross-body. I also treated myself to this pearl bracelet from Le Chateau.

SEE NO EVIL, SAY NO EVIL, HERE NO EVIL.

I graduated my daisy perfume charm from the black rope to a multi-strand gold and pearl necklace. Much more lady for me.

ADDITIONAL EDUCATION: 13 DOLLARS

I was in HomeSense after work picking up a birthday/holiday present, and even though I wasn't looking I found something for myself... I found these fashion books and for such a great price, I couldn't pass them up. These are books I have on my Amazon wishlist but have never actually bought them. I am so excited I snagged them, they were the last one's! And a slightly better deal than Amazon, hence the happy "it's a deal!" face.

This book is going to be very educational I'm sure.

And Nina will have some great advice in this one, but I love Richard Toledo's illustrations.
I'm such a nerd.

I love fashion books, they are like food to me; I can always justify buying them when I'm broke.
These two plus the Overnight Socialite to read during my holiday travels, I am one happy girl!

INSPIRED BY CREATIVE SOULS

This post is inspired by a scene from The Devil Wears Prada. The scene when Anne Hathaway gets 'schooled' by Meryl Streep, that although Anne's character may not care about fashion or take it seriously, her wardrobe is influenced by the entire fashion world. Whether Andrea (Hathaway) see's it for herself or not.
I know am influenced by designers and although I have a particular sense of style that suits myself, I love being inspired by all things fashion. When I found this top at H&M I was thrilled, it reminded me of the Balmain one I drooled over from the F/W '09 collection. I had recently seen Coco Avant Chanel (great love story) and whether horizontal stripes are cautionary, channeling these great designers when shopping is so much fun. I rock the top with skinny jeans, tall black boots, and a mixture of great necklaces I also found at H&M (separate trip).
