FASHION STAR WINNER: KARA LARICKS

Well I only watched a few episodes of the new TV series Fashion Star but I was extremely impressed with the shows concept and especially the winner, Kara Laricks! I also really enjoyed watching Nicole Richie mentoring the designers and her stage commentary :) There were some cheesy elements (the music, Jessica Simpson mentor) I could live without, but I'm not the only person the show is trying to appeal too... I was instantly attracted to Kara Laricks designs in the few episodes I watched. Her inspiration of menswear in her womenswear is right up my alley! When I was in Las Vegas a few weeks ago for my bachlorette weekend, I bought a Kara Laricks ivory blouse at Macy's adding to my collection of office appropriate daywear to evening for someone who can't make it home in between adventures...

Wore my new top with my favourite pups-tooth patterned matching suit (inspired by When Harry Met Sally), I bought from ZARA.

This blouse will be a beautifully appropriate piece to wear sometime during the weekend of our wedding!

One of my favourite inspirations for Summer is Nautical and I love that my new Kara Laricks blouse has exactly that feeling for me with the mens tie inspired bow :)

WHAT I WORE: THE FIRST DAY OF SPRING!

Today is the first day of Spring and to celebrate I painted my nails a beautiful pastel inspired lavender colour called, Plank A Lot by OPI with Revlon's Galaxy Top Coat nail polish layered on top. I just finished my everyday MAC "Era" eyeshadow but luckily I get to crack open my new colour, "Patina"! Patina is a similar neutral brown shadow compared to Era but slightly darker and with a unique pinkish shimmer that compliments my face nicely. My clothing run-down;  Joe Fresh Sunglasses, Jason Wu x Target T-shirt, H&M Spring/Summer Jacket (from S/S 2011), Pepe London Jeans, Forever 21 laser cut shoes, and (not pictured) my beige Longchamp handbag. 

SPOILED ROTTEN!

Today was my last day of work before I started my Christmas holiday and vacation. Was a great day all in all and in addition to selling what I love everyday, I work with the most thoughtful and supportive woman I know. Wise beyond their years and so many similarities, I am blessed to work with such wonderful people everyday. To top off how amazing my co-worker (and friends!) are; they showered me with the most thoughtful beauty and fashion products from one of their shopping excursions! While I am away traveling back home in Saskatchewan and Vancouver, B.C. I will have everyday treats that remind me of my special Toronto life :)

A TARTAN'S TALE BY MAC

Last weekend when I went shopping with my girlfriend Andrea (also bought a Rachel Rachel Roy sweater :D), my jaw dropped when I saw the new MAC collection. And from one redhead to another - FABULOUS!! Wish it was me, with my Scottish background I felt such an instant affinity to it all. I had seen the plaid eyeshadows featured in recently but forgot about them until I stepped into the store. I couldn't resist the neutral lip colour set in the makeup bag that is really close to my Macbeth Tartan :)



Also taken last weekend.. I have to post about the Rachel Rachel Roy sweater, and my most recent purchases of today, it was another Fashion Friday! I bought 4 new tops at Joe Fresh! I'm feeling great about heading into the holiday season.

NOVEMBER LOULOU

Amazing finds and editorial in the November issue of LouLou Magazine. It's a high recommend. I must find that double finger feather ring, it's amazing! It's my kind of cocktail ring haha :D

Christian Siriano's shoes and handbag look amazing in these shots. Would really like to see them face 2 face.. I haven't been to Payless in forever.. Not since I bought these orange sandals last summer. Second pic; LOVE that styled look. Blouse $30 at H&M!! My best friend Meghan is looking for pleather shorts to rock this kinda look.. That cuff is also a must have piece.

Lady-like pieces are hot right now, and I'm totally diggin' them. I'm inspired by the Louis Vuitton 2010 Fall RTW.

Chanel has been amping their game in the nail sector. Consistently putting out and getting a lot of press on their on-trend, unique colours. That essie shade "British Merino" is just fabulous..

INSPIRED BY FABULOUS FELINES

On Tuesday I noticed the MAC cosmetic theme had been changed to Fabulous Felines :) LOVE the tabby cat incorporated in to the theme/inspiration. My fabulous feline Nigo definitely inspires me and I found it noteable enough to show this fun furry connection heading in to fall..

Collections available; Leopard Luxe, Palace Pedigreed and Burmese Beauty. I think you know which collection I am coveting.. Maybe I deserve a Tinted Lipglass to celebrate :) Wildly Refined...

WHAT A WONDERFUL DAY

What a Friday. I have to say I started it out right, painted my nails the night before and put on my Gaga lipstick as soon as I brushed m teeth, I was feeling it. At lunch I went to Forever 21 with my gf's and found the perfect new bag! It's exactly what I was looking for, and more, can't believe the luck I have been having at Forever (still obsessed with my lace tunic). I also bought 3 awesome necklaces :) Will take pics soon.

In the evening my bf took me to see Martina Topley Bird and Massive Attack! We hung out with them after their sets. It was Martina's birthday and the boys and presented her with a cake and song. Can't believe I was there, such amazing artists, I sung along too, I'm feeling post star struck.

On such a high, I came home and photographed my new purse.
