OUR NURSERY PLANS CONTINUE

Last weekend was Labour Day long weekend here in Canada, and also our 1 year Wedding Anniversary! We spent the weekend relaxing, planning our boy's bedroom, and celebrating our anniversary with dinners out, going for massages, and enjoying the annual Air Show. Now that we have started the last trimester of pregnancy, we have prioritized the completion of our son's bedroom.

Weeks ago we painted the walls, "Big Sea" and hung the art we bought from IKEA. The artwork couldn't be more perfect, it brings to life our desired 'Travel' bedroom theme, and all three cities are the three major cities N8 and I have enjoyed traveling together.

Convertible Crib purchased from Toys R Us/Babies R Us. Still to be built but we are happy that this crib can also become a Toddler bed, and later a Full-size bed.

Rocking Chair and Floor Lamp we are planning to buy from IKEA.

My cousin Tracey is painting a picture for our boy's room to go above the change table. I sent the picture above to her for inspiration. I thought the little boy and airplane was perfect for our boy's room, fitting in with our Travel theme perfectly.

Dresser above we already own and is the perfect height for our Change Table. We will just add the Contour Cushion on the top, and I can't wait to fill the drawers with baby clothes and accessories. The IKEA storage unit below is one we are considering to add in the room for much needed additional storage, it just requires the addition of doors.

Once we purchase the remaining items, build everything, our little man's room will be ready for his arrival. We have come along way and are looking forward to reaching the finish line over the next couple of months.

OUR WORK IN PROGRESS NURSERY

Nathan and I have been hard at work clearing out and painting the second bedroom for our little man's bedroom. The room is still a work in progress but we are very happy with the way it's turning out. Can't wait to finish the project.

Before we started painting photos.

After! Paint colour is, "Big Sea" from CIL Paints.

Artwork we found at IKEA.

Major cities N8 and I have travelled. Hung in order of our first visits to each.

PREGNANCY DIARY: WEEK 23

23 weeks along this crazy ride called, Pregnancy. Within the last couple of weeks I have just started feeling our little man move around and kick which is the most incredible feeling. Just recently had my first week without any morning sickness!!! Cause for celebration now that I can roll out of bed and not experience the dizziness and hurdle of getting sick before or at work. I apparently was one of many women who experience morning sickness for 6 months of her pregnancy. Now on to bigger and better things! Now on agenda we are at the painting stage of putting together our nursery. We have finally chosen our colour of blue for the walls which we are painting this weekend, and after this phase we will start building and buying the last pieces of furniture.

Gifts for our son below.
First picture sent to us from my mom, she made a car seat cover!

BABY'S ROOM COLOUR DECISION

I'm really torn! Nathan is onboard with both of these colours I have chosen for our baby boy's room, but I'm having a hard time deciding which one. After vetting several different blue, blue-green colours from my favourite paint line, CIL - I have narrowed my favourite wall colours to Hidden Harbor and Big Sea. Hidden Harbor is a great blue colour and seems to be the favourite amongst my friends and colleagues, but Big Sea is a wonderful happy colour that won't be too matchy-matchy with the two National Geographic maps we are hanging as artwork in the room.

After using CIL's virtual painter online and looking at the colours in various bedrooms to get an idea for the colours on a larger scale. Using the virtual painter was really helpful vetting my colours, but now that I'm down to my two favourite colours.
