A visit to Magic Pony.
This week Toronto the music scene has been completely out of control with NXNE and this weekend's Much Music Video Awards. Yesterday I ran into a high school pal Leot who plays for The Sheepdogs. Tonight N8 and I are checking out Flaming Lips, Rockstar Hotel, and tomorrow the MMVAs!
Yesterday heat and humidity was amongst us as Summer is definitely underway, and those are our two Summer symptoms we can identify it with. Today rain has also made its way into the mix.. Yesterday to beat Toronto's heat and humidity I wore 1 of my favourite maxi dresses compete with office appropriate sweater (Air Conditioner can get cold by the afternoon). I call my floral dress and floral watch necklace combo my Marie Antoinette inspired outfit. Marie Antoinette's room at Grand Trianon and her Cottage in Versailles was covered in a white and pink small rose pattern everywhere. It was said Marie Antoinette loved roses. I bought my necklace from the Marie Antoinette gift shop at her Cottage in Versailles, so happy I did. I think Marie Antoinette would love how I additionally accessorized this look with my parisian designed, Longchamp bag and my, (Danish born) Franco Sarto Designer Series leather strappy sandals.
Luckily last night I gave my nails a fresh coat of paint choosing OPI's colour, Thanks A Windmillion. This morning we got together with a few friends and enjoyed hours of beautiful beach, water, sun, and laughs. I couldn't have asked for a better Sunday :)
These are my favourite looks from Chanel's 2013 Cruise/Resort Presentation that I just posted the video of. Versailles is an incredible place. I love watching reminiscent movies of that chronicle era. This collection and presentation was quite parisian haute couture, raver/rasta influenced, marie antoinette glam, rock star party. I'm going to read a few articles (hopefully interviews) of what Karl Lagerfeld's inspiration(s) were for this collection.
The day after Nathan proposed in Paris, we went to Versailles. We had the best day that started off brilliantly when we managed to get 10th position in the 300+ people line up... We had the best day exploring (almost) every square foot of land. I had to take a lot of pictures it was a surreal experience. To watch Chanel's recent Cruise collection presentation being held at Versailles, and it being such an amazing collection and presentation, this is one of my favourite videos EVER. :)
Right now I'm looking for a new set of swimwear for Summer 2012. I am loving what I found on Old Navy Canada's website this past week. The colours in the bikini are all in my "favourites list" such as; Black, Red, light beige/tan, royal/sapphire blue and aqua! When I saw this Splash-Print I didn't need to look any further. Especially with planning a wedding it's not the year to spend $40-80+ on each the bikini top and bottom, so I am very excited this bikini is under $50! Each piece is $24! After becoming addicted to Pinterest, theknot.com, and after considering a bunch of other factors we have planned two Wedding DIYs for our special day. There may be other more personal touches as well on the big day but I don't want to give everything away..
The first DIY we have planned is turning these vintage inspired postcards I bought from zazzle.com into table number cards for the reception tables.
The second Wedding DIY craft I have in mind was buying vintage suitcases that fit the style and the right size for its task on the big day.
This well fitting Ivory vintage suitcase will be used as our "basket" for Congratulations cards. I will pick up letters from the dollar store/craft store and add them to the mirror as I have seen it done online ;)

Well I only watched a few episodes of the new TV series Fashion Star but I was extremely impressed with the shows concept and especially the winner, Kara Laricks! I also really enjoyed watching Nicole Richie mentoring the designers and her stage commentary :) There were some cheesy elements (the music, Jessica Simpson mentor) I could live without, but I'm not the only person the show is trying to appeal too... I was instantly attracted to Kara Laricks designs in the few episodes I watched. Her inspiration of menswear in her womenswear is right up my alley! When I was in Las Vegas a few weeks ago for my bachlorette weekend, I bought a Kara Laricks ivory blouse at Macy's adding to my collection of office appropriate daywear to evening for someone who can't make it home in between adventures...

Wore my new top with my favourite pups-tooth patterned matching suit (inspired by When Harry Met Sally), I bought from ZARA.
This blouse will be a beautifully appropriate piece to wear sometime during the weekend of our wedding!
One of my favourite inspirations for Summer is Nautical and I love that my new Kara Laricks blouse has exactly that feeling for me with the mens tie inspired bow :)
